Horror Trope: the Musical is an original horror comedy musical with book, music, and lyrics by Janelle Paris. The story uses many of the standard horror tropes across genres including film and literature, with a focus on the pop culture horror tropes of 1990s cinema. The musical was completed in 2025 and has a world premiere date of October 2026. To date, there have been several informal table reads and several workshops planned for 2026. The album, complete with several selected underscore tracks from the show, was released on all platforms in November of 2025.
